Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to reach out and say how wonderful it was to be at the meeting this past Saturday. It is so exciting to have a community in our region. I heard that it has been tried years ago, but lost momentum. I hope that we can keep it going.
The talks given were really great. I thought that Alvin & Dan's talk on the Tepui (a particular favorite of mine) was thorough and interesting. And Mark's startup session on tissue culture was really helpful. I plan on getting the LED setup that he showed us and starting to play around with this in the future. And I really enjoyed seeing others present their growing outfits so we could all get to know each other better.
The auction was a lot of fun and I gotta hand it to Kevin for standing up there and managing that and Michael for tracking the bids. And also thank you to anyone who donated plants, seed, and stamps for the auction. I was surprised how well it went, and I'm thrilled I got my new Nepenthes "Lady Luck". It has been a long time since I have grown a nep and I look forward to this one showing what she can do.
I am looking forward to our next get together and hope I can attend and maybe even help out.
