I bought some D. Regia seeds on Ebay recently. I sowed them on top of LFS that I finely shredded. I scattered the seeds on top and waited. All I have seen is bits of mold on the seeds. Does anyone have any suggestions? I believe sphagnum is supposed to have an antifungal action? Perhaps I should dust them first with sulfur?

Hey Gale, sorry I can't help you though. Maybe someone else can answer.

If the seeds are molding, then most likely they are either dead, or empty (never pollinated or aborted by the mother plant for some reason). They may also have been harvested early. I have no idea if sulfur would work or if it would harm the germinating seedling. I have no experience using it this way. If you know anyone with D. regia, I would suggest asking if they could produce some seed and share with you. Other than that, I think ebay is a roll of the dice. But depending on price, perhaps it is worth the roll. I wish you the best of luck, D. regia is a great species. Jason
