Hi! My name is Anna. I am new to plant keeping and even newer to carnivorous plant keeping. I grew up in a house full of plants, surrounded by a field and woods. After I moved into a more urban area, i realized how important being around plants is for my mental health. Right now i have a few houseplants, herbs, working on a balcony garden for some summer veggies, succulents, and a starter pack of CPs. I recently got my first orchid. I find great peace in waking up every morning and caring for my plants, and get a huge kick out of seeing new growth and watching them catch bugs. I find nature fascinating as well as relaxing and enjoy learning as much as i can.
In addition, i also keep two aquariums. One is planted and houses bamboo shrimp, and the other is an aquascape is progress that is recovering from a nasty camallanus worm infestation.
I can be a little shy/socially anxious, but as my partner put it: once you get her talking about her plants or her fish, she won't shut up.
I am looking forward to meeting people at the May meeting!

Hello Anna,
I live in NoVA and have really started to collect plants recently. I just bought a small nepenthes hybrid online after seeing a Sarracenia on a walk in DE and remembering finding them in OH where I grew up.
I was hoping to see if anyone knows where to find Sarracenia in the DC area.
Thanks, John
